doc-mark is a browser extension for reading documentation. Highlight the lines that matter, write notes next to them, and find everything again later, on any browser.
Store listings are on the way. Works in Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc and Firefox.
Coroutines and Tasks
asyncio.TaskGroup is a more modern alternative to create_task() that gives stronger safety guarantees for scheduling a nest of subtasks.
If any task in the group fails, the remaining tasks are cancelled, and the error is raised once the group exits.
await can only be used inside an async function.

Highlights that stay
Select text, pick one of four colors. Highlights come back when you return, even after the page reloads.
Notes where you need them
Add a note to any highlight or to the whole page. Click a highlight to read or edit its note.
Resume reading
Bookmark a page and doc-mark remembers how far you scrolled, so you land where you stopped.
Library, tags and search
Every saved page in one side panel, grouped by site. Tag pages and search across notes and highlights.
Markdown export
Save pages as Markdown files, straight into your Obsidian vault, with links that jump back to each line.
Sync across browsers
Optional sign-in with Google or an email code. Your highlights follow you to every browser and device.
How it works
- Install doc-mark and open any documentation page.
- Select text and pick a color, or press Alt+H. Press Alt+B to bookmark the page.
- Open the doc-mark side panel from the toolbar to see this page's notes, or your whole library.
- Optionally sign in on the Sync tab to keep everything in step across browsers.
Support
Highlights not showing?
Reload the page. If the page's text changed since you highlighted it, that highlight can't be placed and stays in the side panel.
Sync not working?
A red ! on the toolbar icon means the last sync failed. Open the Sync tab to see why, then press Sync now.
Delete my data
Removing the extension deletes local data. To delete your account and synced data, email us from the address you signed in with.

Private by default
Without an account, everything stays in your browser. Sign-in is optional and only used for sync.
No ads, no analytics, no tracking. doc-mark never records your browsing history and never sells data.
